Crock Pot Cheesy Bacon Onion Dip

Ingredients

8 slices of thick cut bacon

1 large onion chopped

1 tsp salt

½ tsp pepper

1 tbsp brown sugar

2 cloves of garlic chopped

8 oz. cream cheese softened

1 cup sour cream

2 cup mozzarella shredded

10 oz. can diced tomatoes with chilies drained


Instructions

  • cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until slightly crispy

  • remove and allow to drain on a paper towel

  • chop when cooled to the touch

  • drain the bacon grease and leave 1 tbsp in the skillet

  • add the onion to the pan and season with salt, pepper, and brown sugar, cook for 1 to 2 minutes

  • stir in the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds to 1 min

  • mix the cream cheese and sour cream together in the insert of the slow cooker

  • add in the mozzarella cheese, onions, bacon and diced tomatoes

  • heat on high 1-2 hours or until warm and cheese has melted.

  • serve with chips or crackers (or dig in with a spoon)
